Sport for Teenagers

Karate classes for Teens 16-19 years

Karate is a great sport for teenagers!

Our karate classes for teens are the highest quality, and are delivered five days a week in our full-time private Dojo.

Teenagers who take up karate as a sport at OKUKAN with Sensei Sandra learn quickly. Unlimited training is on offer, so teens can train up to five nights a week to fast-track their progress. We offer flexible training for teens, so they can train around their school and work commitments as needed.

Sport for Teenagers is Incredibly Important…

Sport keeps teens focused, away from the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle, and builds physically fit and mentally healthy people. Karate helps keeps teenagers motivated to learn, grow and to constantly improve. Being physically active as a teenager is pivotal in setting up a lifelong discipline of being physically fit and active, and karate is a sport that can be practiced and improved upon for one’s whole life: karate is a life-long sport.

Teens learn to defend themselves, gain resilience and self confidence, get physically fit, and become obsessed with something awesome (and healthy!) at OKUKAN Dojo.

Karate is more than just a sport for teens…

Karate builds character, teaches practical self-defence skills and develops a keen sense of awareness and focus. Karate is particularly good at helping teens gain resilience, confidence and strength of character. Teens gain a genuine understanding of what discipline is, and through the practice of karate, become disciplined individuals.

OKUKAN dojo also offers opportunities to teens in competitive sport, through competition karate.

Karate is an athletic sport.

Karate kicks, punches, jumps, strikes, endurance, aerobic exercise, strength and flexibility training -all lead to a balanced, strong and flexible physique.
